How to get a friend to pay up?
So a friend of mine owes me $250. She said she'd get it to me by the end of Sept but somehow I don't think I'll be seeing it by that time. I messaged her on FB on the 29th and haven't gotten a reply (she has been active on Fb tho). Today I texted her and DM-ed her on Twitter ; no reply. We used to be close but have stopped hanging out for over a year already. She has owed me this money for the longest time. How can I get her to pay up? I was thinking of going down to her house, but how would that make me look... HELP PLEASE. I really need the money too.

Just go around to her house and get it. Who cares how it would make you look, $250 is a lot of money so don't let her get away with it. Also, don't ever lend her money again as she has proved that she can't be trusted.

It would be foolish to think that she will pay the whole amount at once, although nshe borrowed the whole amount at once
Tell her to pay you $50.00 per week and let her sign a note stating that she will abide by the rules, and then you can take her to court if she reneges on her promise because then you will have proof.
ThAT'S WHY i NEVER LOAD NO MORE THAN 10.00 DOLLARS - NOT EVEN TO MY RELATIVES; because they are the first one's to stick it to you.

You have just learn't a valuable (but costly lesson) don't lend money or go to her place and get her computer and keep it until she pays, a couple of days without her facebook and she will pay Smile

First of all, you should really avoid giving people money unless you have it to burn. You never know if you can really trust them :/

Meet her some where, go to her house, something, and talk to her with no distractions. Tell her that you really need the money.
Tell her (when/if she doesn't get the money to you by the deadline) that you wont be loaning her any more.
Be polite, don't be aggressive.

If it's been about three months, then accept that you've lost your money. And if you want to use legal action, make sure you have evidence that you let her BORROW the money and that you didn't GIVE it to her.
