Is this an infringement upon Facebook's privacy policy?
I've noticed that a few of my friends use an app that ranks how often their friends visit their profile. Is this against Facebook's rules? Do these apps really work?

Most likely the app is for amusement only - doesn't really work.
If you go on a MySpace app it will have some crap at the top about how your friends have taken IQ test and give the scores "achieved" by your Top 3 friends. My #1 friend happens to be my wife and she has never taken a MySpace IQ test. Nothing is real - just for amusement only
