Are Cubans and Americans allowed to have contact with eachother via mail, e-mail, or Facebook?
Or will they both get in trouble.
Because I am planning to go on a study abroad to Cuba from my University, and I was wondeirng if I made some friends there, if we would be able to stay in touch with eachother, or is it illegal? Ads |

Of course you can keep in contact with friends, whether Cuban or not. It's a bit silly to think it's illegal.
Edited to add that once again, Semmel proves what an idiot he is. You do not need clearance from the government and many, MANY Cubans have facebook. This loser has never been to Cuba, doesn't know anything about Cuba, and has to vote for himself to get through the day as the perpetual loser he is. Ads |

As gosolojacob says, Cubans and Americans are allowed to communicate - Cuban Americans remain in touch with their families, after all.
There are restrictions on Cubans' access to the internet - but most Cubans who want to to can find ways. They cannot just sign up for an internet account, but most know a neighbour who has an email access or something, and many Cubans are on Facebook. |
