What is the deal with facebook timeline?

So i have been hearing for months that facebook is going to make timeline compulsory but its still hasnt happened. have they decided not to or is it still gping to happen? whats the story?

For the time being, enjoy what you have. Facebook might make timeline compulsory but for now its not. Some users who have just opened Facebook for the first time is still on the old Facebook format.

Yes it will happen, enjoy your old fb account, I much prefer it to timetime!! my date for changeover was May 17 and that's exactly when it changed, although one good thing about it, it allows you to hide things from appearing on timeline likes old posts, likes etc.,
