Question about facebook apps?

If you don't allow an app to access your profile, and therefore you haven't installed it, can it still send notifications from you to your friends? I am wondering because I accidentally clicked on a link that led me to an app and I don't want it to be one of those stupid ones that randomly send notifications/requests to all your friends.

If you don't let it access your profile, it doesn't send notifications. And even if you did install it and all, you can go to app settings and stop it from sending notifications.
