How can you convince your mom to let you get a Facebook?

I really want a facebook to stay in touch with some of my friends that have moved away but my mom doesn't quite approve of it. I'm not sure how to ask her or how to get her to realize why I want one because she think I'm just saying I want to stay in touch with my friends but she thinks I'm going to do something behind her back

It's tough to have an over protective mom huh? I don't know. She would have her worries which is why she is preventing you from using it. Probably she's afraid that you might exhibit yourself in there or something. Find out what she is worried about and then, try convince her from there.
