facebook is now a major communication device of this world. And it is just a deadly weapon, if used wrongly as it is a useful tool if used rightly. Sometimes some terrorists, fundamentalist groups spread communal or religious hatred, propaganda, rumour through it, and then it spreads like a wild fire. Some times is takes so much bad shape, even some local governments of this world fail to check it or control the damage. Some people think that there should be some kind of control over the destructive attitude of some means of media. And facebook is number one in this field. No other media in today's world is so much powerful than those facebook or twitter. Do you think there should be some control over it? Or that the US military or the US Government should take hold of it now? Or it should be free happy-go-lucky as it was before and still is at present?

I believe in freedom of free speech, I'm against censorship, and do not believe in handing over even more power to the government. So I do not think that facebook should be taken over by the government.

In the US freedom of speech and freedom of press are very tightly held beliefs and have been a codified part of our law since our very inception.

The way the law is now, if the government has reasonable cause to believe a person is using facebook for illegal purposes, they can get a search warrant from a judge to get higher control over that person's facebook account and related logs/records.

I do not feel the government should have the authority to take any more control than that, and the majority of americans would agree. If there is no reasonable suspicion of a person then their personal privacy and other rights should not be infringed upon.

I realize that other cultures do not value privacy the same way we do, however as I stated it is very deeply ingrained in our way of life. If the government suddenly and publicly usurped that privacy it would go over very very badly with the population.

US agencies already monitor all internet traffic coming in or going out of USA covertly. But to govern the facebook openly laws need to be passed. and that is not easy.
