I think this option is not yet available there.
Its a new function and Facebook is still trying to figure out how people like it. I am sure if enough people voice their opinion about the feature, they may modify it.

As of right now, It is not an optional feature, but this may change. Facebook trys to make its features as user-friendly as possible So this may change sooner than later. Hope the best.
