My Facebook friend illegally copied a photographer's photo?
So one of my acquaintances recently uploaded a copyrighted photo onto Facebook. He didn't purchase it; just printscreened it- essentially stole it. I messaged him politely to recommend that he take it down because it's so slack to the poor photographer who's trying to make ends meet in this world...but he just ignored me.

I'm not sure what I should do next. I checked out the photo report option but it seems to only send the person a message asking them to take it down...or does it actually contact the regulators of Facebook as well?

Thanks in advance, everyone Smile
@Andrew: I know some people feel this way, and I don't mean to raise a controversial issue. It's just that for every stolen photograph, the photographer loses plus or minus $10 s/he otherwise would have gained, to humbly make a living...so yeah there is harm done.

You should mind your own business, thats what you should do. Who is he really harming? Is he making money off of it that the photographer would otherwise not have because of it? I doubt it. There is no harm done, so nothing is wrong.

You cannot do anything about it directly, but you can certainly report the infringement to the copyright owners and let them decide what they want to do, if anything. It is up to the copyright owners to patrol their own property.
