Why does my ex-boyfriend keep trying to add me on facebook?

He broke up with me 2 years ago. Anyways he tried adding me as a friend a couple of months ago. I rejected it and today I saw another friend request from him. I have a boyfriend and I have a feeling he knows that I have a boyfriend.
Why does he keep trying to add me on facebook? He's the one who dumped me. I wonder if it would be a good idea to message him and ask him what he wants?

Don't reply - continue to ignore him. If you ask him what he wants, that will tell him that you care what he wants, and you are better off if he thinks you don't care at all and have no interest in communicating.

You could message him telling him to knock it off (without asking what he wants), but I think ignoring him will make the point without anything coming from you.

When you decline his friend request you can say that you don't know him, and then he can't send any more requests. You can send him a message. I had an ex do that with me, I ended up sending him a message that it hurt me to see his name pop up and that's why I was declining friendship. Some people don't seem to think. Don't ask him, tell him why you are declining, or at least a version of the story that you feel comfortable saying.
