when i message someone that is not on my friends list it says they can see my profile for a whole month, how can i jus show them my picture and name instead when they click on me till i become their friend?

However - yes, they can see you for a whole month. In that month, they will see only your profile picture, your top of the page information, the network of your friends, etc. Nothing really important will be showed.

When you message someone, they automatically have access to your Basic Info, Personal Info, Work Info, Education Info and Friends. They won't see your whole profile -- just those bits of info.

Facebook used to let you choose what to show on your profile when you message someone and yeah, it'd expire after a month. Now people you message have access to the info I said above for however long that message stays in their inbox.
