Is it illegal for sex offenders to have a Facebook profile?
I know a woman who was convicted of molesting her younger brother in 2007, and just recently I found out she has a facebook page. I know it's against facebook's terms and conditions for a convicted sex offender to have a profile, but is actually a legal violation for them to be on facebook? I need to know if I should contact the local police department or not.
That's unfortunate, because this woman is a predator and should not be allowed on social networking sites in my opinion. Ads |

Facebook prohibits accounts of convicted sex offenders. To have them removed you need to do one of the following:
â– Link to a listing in a national sex offender registry â– Link to an online news article â– Link to a court document â– Documentation verifying the report attached to the sex offender report form As for a "law" against a Facebook account...there are cases where a person was convicted of a probation violation that prohibited the account on a social network. |
