How can I remove the "Facebook of Sex" ad from my Facebook ?
It's not on the sidebar, it's a banner ad at the top. It's sexually explicit and I don't want my 9 yr old to see it.

if you are using firefox, you can download https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

addeblock plus, which will block all the ads making it load faster.

If it's one of the ones in the sidebar, then you can click on the Thumbs Down icon and it shouldn't show it again.

Or you can do a search for an ad blocker.

Facebook would not permit such an advert to be part of their advertising campaigns, as it breaches the terms of use.
As a facebook developer and user im familiar with both terms and conditions of use. (I also advertise on FB my web design business)

(Business: http://www.datacure.co.uk )

This will either be a browser add on
Or a aplication isntalled that overlaps when you accesss facebook

First off...
Follow these instructions...

Start Menu -> Control Panel - (Classic View) -> Add remove programmes

Look for any refference of Facebook of Sex

http://www.pctools.com
Download registry cleaner this will show the Registry threads to any known problems which are known to cause problems or spyware threads etc, you can then manually remove them (IF YOUR ADVANCED AND KNOWLEDGABLE ON REGISTRY EDITING)

If your not have some one else do it for you as you can totally mess up your computer, alternativly you can purchase a copy from PC Tools.

Next Step
McCaffee Site advisor

If you have the facebook of sex on your FB it means you have visited the site and tried to register (You naughty mix haha) but never the less live and learn, DONT GO ON THESE SITES WERE ITS FREE SEX.

NOTHING IS FOR FREE these people have to pay to make the service available and guess what, you are helping them raise funds by having spyware that advertises other companies which pay these sites.

(if it wasnt you then some one else has in your household)

MCCAFFE SITE ADVISOR:- brilliant tool to warn you of bad websites and which ones are safe and its FREE to use.

MCCaffee being a reputable company that helps people stay clear of probelms on the net and antivirus.

K9 Internet protection
Free internet protection that will stop all adult sites, adverts etc

As a last resourt For a small fee of 20.00 pounds (UK pounds) I can do a remote access repair for you, this involved taking control of your computer from my home but you can see everything I do, (I say last resourt as this would involve a lot of trust as in all fairness if some one approached me on this I wouldn probably turn them down so Im not expecting you to take me up on this offer) but im not doing it for free its my job and business doing all aspects of IT

Computer repairs
Web Design
Software Development
VoIP telephony
Photo Repairs

I can clear out any traces of this for you on the registry Its not hard to do when you know how, you do get to see the repair carried out and remain in control should you ever wish to go ahead with this option

Email me via my business website
http://www.datacure.co.uk

(I havent put my email address on here because bots can pick it up and add it into spam mail services)

This is definitely not a Facebook-approved advertisement. If it is being delivered directly through Facebook.com, then you should report the ad--there should be a link to report it, or you can click the "thumbs down". But there is no way to remove it directly from Facebook.com by yourself.

There is a chance that your computer has adware or spyware on it, either from something you downloaded previously from the internet, or as the result of a virus.

Side note: In researching the answer to this question, I found a really funny article about why Facebook for hooking up could never work at http://www.pointsincase.com/columns/case...ook-of-sex
