How do people pop up as people u may know on facebook?
theres this person i know that has a facebook but we're not friends nor have mutual friends. he recently popped up as people u may know. i never go through his profile.. so i dont know why this would happen. does this mean he goes through mine? cause i know he likes me?...

no, it does mean he views your profile - you have something else in common with him besides mutual friends... like a school, or a city

Facebook can relate you to anyone on the basis of hometown, current town, school, workplace, mutual friends etc. you can always click the little 'x'

Facebook shows suggestions like these whenever it finds any sort of connection. Even if you two are in the same IP, it'll show him as a suggestion.

The people pop up in the friends you may know if Facebook finds any person that have something in common with you. It can be anything like school, college, place, workplace, mutual friends or any other thing.
