How does facebook privacy work?
So, I need to set my facebook account to public. I know how to do it. Under privacy and then I selected "everyone" instead of network and friends. Does this make my facebook account available to everyone or just to the people that have a facebook account? In other words, for example let's say someone doesn't have a facebook account so he/she decides to view mine. Can he do it? Or does he have to have a facebook account to do it?

And what exactly network and friends mean?

Friends are people you allow, everyone is all fb users or 'browsers to FB. Network in the FB sense is those people who are allowed as "Friends"..

Friends of Friends is a FB creation where now people who are friends of your friends can see your stuff. That pushes the privacy window out.. I restrict my views to friends only.. I've told my kids to do the same. The only reason I have FB is to monitor my teens.

I would suggest that you restrict viewing to friends.. Privacy is a hard thing to get back once it's been given away.. Restrict to Friends only and you won't have a bunch of spam in your in box.
