I have tried putting my photo in the new facebook timeline for a cover photo but it is too big because it cuts off half of the image. How can you make the photo smaller?
Paint will not let me enter a number that high?

Paint has a resize option, but you need to be careful of the aspect ratio. I believe the image size you want is 850x315. It's easier with photoshop since you can just set the canvas size from the image menu and then drag and modify the image size as you see fit.

What I would recommend initially is to try to resize it in Paint with the aspect ratio checked. Just give the image a width of 850 pixels and then drag to reposition.

Hope this helps.
