How do people have like 700 facebook friends?

I have about 100. I know most of them pretty well except for about 20 of them that are like friends of friends that I don't want to be rude to and a few distant relatives. Anyway, some of my friends have like 700 friends. How does anyone manage to be friends with 700 people? How could anyone have time to hang out with them or keep in touch? Do they just send friend requests to everyone they meet?

Well, I only have 20-ish people, had it for about two years.

I add friends, nice people that I KNOW and family.

I think that when people have over 100 and 200 friends, it's crazy! People probally just add anyone that they see at school or work and comfirm any ramdom person that wants to be friends with them.

Its like my friend at school. She add everyone at school and got over 900 friends! Just goes through the yearbook and types in everyone name and adds them! WOW.

yea i have 661 friends and i just add pretty much everyone that i know or like even seen once
