Old angry 4chan users about how memes are now mainstream. Timeline seem correct?
There are a lot of old 4chan users who say "these memes were funny 5 years ago (2007) and now are mainstream and unfunny" and are very angry that they're mainstream. These memes include rage comics.

As these memes posts started to die down in 4chan, sites like 9gag and funnyjunk came along and made more memes, expanded on on the already existing library. This all happened between 2008 - 2010. Of course, original memes are created daily too, but just consider this time frame for now for the sake of the timeline.

In 2010, Reddit starts using the same meme concepts of that of 4chan, 9gag, and funnyjunk and expand on this by creating even more memes (AdviceAnimals). Continues until present.

In 2011, Tumblr and Facebook users start to share these memes created on these sites and the sharing of memes have been popular until present. This is when it's considered "mainstream" because many many people have Facebook accounts.

Does this summary seem correct?
