Facebook actually has a great deal of FAQ's & tutorials on how to do this. Simply click the "Advertising" link on the bottom of Facebook & you will be directed to these tutorials.

You will need a graphic for the ad as well as a short paragraph on what you are advertising. Facebook has guidelines for both.

I assume you know it costs money to advertise on Facebook. The price depends on what you are trying to sell & your target market.
