Can Twitter followers send a message to my twitter? If so can other followers see it?

can twitter followers send a general message to me that shows up in my twitter feed? which is then broadcast to other followers?
Or is this strictly a retweet once I get their message?

Of course, only if you follow them. Others can see tweets and public retweets.

If they 'mention' you in their tweet with @yourtwitteraccount it is public, but it isnt broadcasted until you retweet it. If they direct message you it isnt public, only you can see it.
