Twitter Following Question/Help?

Okay so ive had my twitter account for a while,but as of late ive been actually using it some. I feel really weird though, only having 5 followers lol, and posting news tidbits and other interesting stuff to ppl who probably never use there twitter. Ive google'd how to get more followers, but mostly its just sites where u pay for credits to get friends. just wondering if there is a site or forum out there to find followers and ppl to follow, or any tips, thanks
