Unfortunately no, this is facebooks new "look".........if you haven't noticed your friends list will not be in alphabetical order anymore either, it will be in order of whom you interact with the most :/

I don't think that's possible. Once you got your Facebook timeline activated, I think there's no way for you to deactivate the timeline. I've also asked a lot of Facebook users about that and all get is a negative feedback.

there is no way to get rid of it - everyone is being converted to the timeline - it's the new look for facebook

There's no way to do that. Although for the moment Facebook did not make a clear statement in any of its official pages about how the upgrade would be deployed, and as a consequence there is a lot of false information going around, experienced users know that Facebook upgrades of this size have never been optional.

Besides, there are clear evidences that indicate that there will be no way to go back to the old Profile. Take a look at the article in the source to see what those evidences are.
