Do apps on facebook ask you for your information?
There's this app thing I wanted to try, and I clicked on it and this thing popped up (didn't look like the facebook blue&white) and it asked me to login and put my facebook email& password in. I didn't put it in because I wasn't sure if it was legit or not. Are apps allowed to do this?

If it directed you to another page outside Facebook, I wouldn't trust it. No app that I have used had ever asked me for my login.

Some apps are asking for your info,and if you don't accept it then the app wouldn't start.
