Okay so I got a message from a girl saying her mom told the police and that they'll be coming to my house. I deactivated it, could I still get in trouble?!

Dude, it's the internet. Nobody can track you unless they had your ip, which they can't get through FaceBook.

She's Pulling crap the police wont come to your house for making a fake profile. The police could still find out your history but it doesn't matter as long as you didn't do any cyber bullying or pornographic material. If the police do come to your house just open your desktop and bust the hard drive with a hammer so no data is stored on it.

I doubt they'll do anything unless you used the account to cyber-bully, sell illegal things, etc. If you just created a fake account and talked to people and you did not do anything bad, then they probably won't care at all.

Sounds like you sent threatening messages.

Here is how it works. If you sent said messages, it is possible that your account has been 'archived' by the good people at facebook. If they keep access logs, which they probably do, they do indeed have your IP.

Whether or not the person you sent these messages to will actually go through with calling the police, is questionable. If you just called them ugly and fat, not saying stupid things like 'i'm going to show up at your house or work and cut you"..... I doubt that they will unless they consider you to be actually dangerous.

So there is a good chance that they can track the messages to you.

Its a new internet hun, its harder to be anonymous, the law can subpoena records from any company in any country which doesn't outright deny their right too (for example I believe Bulgaria is an example of a country which is outside our legal system).

Be careful what you send, people are.... p***ies these days, and will cry 'oh woe is me' or 'oh i am so frightened' over just about anything.

Case in point my former employer twisted my words in an email saying that I didn't want to be legally compromised by being goaded intentionally into violence, into 'oohhhhh I am soooo (fake) scared, I have tons of guns and run an armory business and train every day, but your suggestion that you could be pushed to violence by me, frightens me oh so much that I lie awake at night in fear' *makes the jerk off motion towards said idiot ex boss*

The point is, just be careful, and don't let your anger get the better of you, we're like old England basically now, minus the charm, sophistication, and frivolous capital punishment heh We're not allowed to express emotion, or have outbursts, we're expected to be as non human as the rest of the idiots in this country, and keep everything under the surface.

It's not a free country anymore, oh sure you're FREE, but as it stands, you're only free to screw yourself if you don't follow the rules set forward by mediocre society.

if the account was being used to harass or cyberbully someone, of course the police can come after you. It doesn't matter if you deleted the account - the police can subpoena Facebook's records to get your account details and locate your home from the IP address you used.

If you just had a fake account but did not harass or bully someone then nothing is going to happen. Having a fake account is not illegal. Bullying or harassing someone, whether from your real account or a fake account, IS illegal
