How to make my facebook status public?

So if i try to change my status to public it doesnt let me i always see the options to change it to friends, only me, and friends of friends i dont have public but i want to have it

To make your status public, your whole profile has to be public,
But you can change things you don't want anyone see except you, and your close friends.

Just post your status on facebook then in the right hand side you will see a small option of settings from there you can set it public if it does not allow you from there then just go to your account settings from there you can customize it.
