How do I hide friends on facebook timeline?

I know when you go into edit of your album, you can click 'only me', however; when i do this option, my friends can still see my friends. Does anyone know how to hide friends on timeline?

dont forget doing the very last step.... you have to click public after you set it in order to see what the public sees (lots of people are forgetting to do that)
