How do I work at my own page on Facebook?

I made a page on Facebook, and it shows up in the search bar when I search for it. But I want to set it so that I work there on my profile. When I hit "Add where you work" and search for it, it doesn't show up. How do I set it so that it shows that I work at this page that I made?
It is showing up in the main search bar at the top of the news feed when I search for it, but not when I hit "Add where you work" and search for it.

the page has to be set up as a business page... did you select the right category when you created it?
