How do I block emails on Facebook from people & groups I'm not friends with?

I am really surprised by all the emails I get from groups (some in Arabic!) and people that are NOT on my friends list and groups I'm not even in. So it's not as simple as "Leave Group" or taking someone off the friends list.

How do I block these people?

Account -> Privacy Settings -> Contact Information -> Scroll down to "Send me a message
Control who can send you a message from search results and from your profile" -> Use the drop down box to the right and change to "only friends"
