Is it because were preparing for a war in Asia? They all had green camo and automatically thought about the Vietnam war. What do you think? Anybody have any real evidence?

Nothing like that, after world war 2, one of the terms of Japans surrender was that they would abolish their offensive military and are only allowed to have a military for defensive purposes. In exchange, the US agreed to help in the defense of Japan in the event of an invasion. We have a few Military bases over there.

America has had bases in Japan for quite some time. Thousands deploy, train, live and pcs there every year. This is nothing new and there is no conspiracy going on that you need evidence for.

The Marine Corps has been involved is Asiatic service since the turn of the 20th century. After WWII, the US established basis for Asiatic service in Japan, and we have been there ever since. Study up on sea power, and the protection of US assets abroad, and the projection of US power and influence by sea power, and you will understand why the Corps is a significant presence in Asia. Also, since we gave up our bases in the Philippines, our foothold in Japan is even more important. You don't need an real "evidence" just a little education and understanding on US foreign policy during the last 150 years; and a little knowledge of the mission of the Navy and Marine Corps.

Japan is your ''ALLY''. It could be because of the terrain, climate, etc., though many countries MILITARIES train in ''ALLIED COUNTRIES''!!!!

Hell, Marines are stationed in Japan...where else would you expect them to train while so stationed.
