How to solve a problem like an adult?
Basically, my friend A and I are in charge of our group (everyone in the group acknowledges this), and we're having a little problem: our friend, B. B was in charge of the group last year (I was her second in command), and sort of handed it down to me, and I'm sharing it with A. A and I had a name picked out and everything- we even begun designing our group's stuff, and have a Facebook page. However, B is being really rude. She said that she wants to keep last year's name, and thinks we're trying to control everything, when it is OUR team.

B is really stubborn and close minded, and doesn't change her mind easily. We want to put it up to a vote on the team, but feel like B will hate us and the team- we don't want her to hate the team, nor us. What do you think we should do (A and me)?
It's a charity group we are in- she was in charge last year but "didn't like it", so she put me in charge this year. I think we are gonna put this to a vote, but I feel like she won't accept that. She said that we're trying to destroy what she worked so hard to create-but it's a new year, new group, and we want to do our ideas.
We already started a poll before this started, and the name that me and A are in favor of is winning-everyone we asked likes our name (last year the group was disorganized and a bunch of people don't want to come back this year because of drama from last year).

Just ignore her, and let her know she is no in charge anymore.

Good luck!

Handle your problems with sex just like Lord Flashheart does.

If you dont know who he is, maybe I really am getting old.

Explain to her that as a group, you must work and think as a group. Her opinion alone will not stand for the group itself. Either she cooperates with the group or she leaves- no other option.

Put to a vote, you do not have to with her or do things to suit her. You are in charge so act like one.

I dont know if this is within a company or school project but if there is anyone superior you can talk to or follow the procedure of disaplinery then it's up to her to correct that.

What kind of group is it? A sports team, debate team or just a social friendship group?

If it's an organised group formed for doing a particular activity, then leadership is necessary as long as the feelings and desires of all members are taken into account and respected.

If it's a friendship group then there doesn't need to be anyone "in charge". Some people are natural leaders and others are natural followers but all of the planning, names, fb page etc is energy that would be better spent forming valuable friendships.

B probably feels that her work and what she values is being dismissed. It was not HER team then and it's not YOUR team now. A team belongs to ALL members and all members should have a say. Put things to a vote, run it as a democracy and while you may not always get what you want that way, it ensures a fair outcome and no one can complain about it.
