how do you get rid of facebook friends?

There's this person that I became friends with on facebook who I didn't know and they were very misleading about themselves before we were facebook friends. Now I no longer want to be friends with her, how do I get her out of my "friends" list? How do I get myself out of hers?

scroll to the bottom of her page
click remove from friends

on the blue bar on the top, click on the like that says 'friends' and find the person and it gives you an option to remove it and you won't be their frined either.
