Hiding membership of groups on Facebook?
Is it possible to join a Facebook group but for it not to appear anywhere on your profile? I know you can hide the event 'xyz joined the group abc' but is that the only indication that you are in that group?

Basically is there a way to make it so the only way someone knows I'm in a group is if they actually click the group and check the membership list?

click the "X" in the groups section on your page, it lets you hide it. select
"Remove Box"

job done.

Its the same with any application you have but dont want people to see.

if you post to the group your friends still get an update of what you did, so you might want to hide that bit too.

The groups you are in is displayed on your profile. I'm afraid the only way of doing this what you want to do is to hide all your groups from your Profile, you can't just do it with one. Normally, being a member of group doesn't just mean you can post on the wall and in discussion topics, and post photos and videos, it also means that you are showing support for whatever the group is about.

Now, it is possible for a group admin to make his group invisible to others by choosing for it not to be displayed on people's profiles (this is sometimes done for groups where everyone gives out phone numbers, or other private things), but other than actually leaving the group after you finish posting things then joining when you want to post again (and so on), there is no way to be an "invisible" member.

Sorry I couldn't help you, but I promise you that my answer is the correct one.

1) Click on Privacy
2) Go to the 'Profile' section and click 'Edit settings'
3) Scroll down to 'Applications in your Profile'
4) In the groups drop-down box/select list choose to set the visibility of the groups you belong to to either 'Only me', in which case only you can see it on your profile or to 'No one' and you or anyone else wont be able to see it on your profile but you will still be able to access your groups list via the menu/panel to the left (below the search field).

Hope that helps.
