It's my birthday soon. On my facebook timeline i've made it so people can not post on my wall.

Will people be able to still wish me a happy birthday with a wall post?

if you've blocked them from posting on your wall then they won't be able to post happy birthday, just make it so they can post on that day and then stop it again

If you have set privacy about not to post on my wall then people can't be able to post on your wall. When you having your birthday on your friend's profile a birthday reminder shows your name to wish you a happy birthday. So if you set a privacy on your wall then no one can post on your wall and in birthday reminder notification your friend will wish you by sending you massage in profile.
