How do I get the Facebook Timeline?

Everybody is saying to go to the Introducing Timeline page and click "Get Timeline", or go to a friend's page who has the timeline and click "Get timeline", but I went to both places and do not see that button. I used to see it, but now that I want to get it, I can't find that button anywhere anymore!

You can get Timeline by going to http://facebook.com/about/timeline and clicking on "Get Timeline" at the bottom.

However, Timeline is only being released to a limited number of people. While Facebook hasn't specifically said what the criteria are, many people have cited some of these reasons among other why they think some people were chosen over others:

- Minimum 100 friends
- Account at least 30 days old
- Frequent status updates
- Account in good standing (i.e. no spam, suspensions, etc.)
- Many pictures
- Completed profile (work, education, philosophy, interests, contact details, etc.)
- Verified account (cell phone added)
- Claimed username (i.e. http://facebook.com/username instead of facebook.com/profile.php?id=12345)
