How to change my birthday on a facebook timeline?? Just the month and the day?

Me birthday is coming and i need to change the month and day so people wont tell me happy bday when it already passed.when i first joined facebook i lied about my bday for security reasons but now i want to change it to my real bday.i have never changed my bday before.the year is acually real 1998.what do i do??

Go to your About Me, then go to Basic Info and click the Edit button. You can change your birthday there.
If you are wanting to change the year, you will have to send a request and have it approved.

TO CHANGE YOUR BIRTH DAY
1. Go to your timeline or profile
2. Scroll down to the basic information on your timeline
3. Click on the high lighted words of birth year were you see the day you were born
4. Edit and change either day ,month or Year
5. Confirm the change and you will go to your timeline and see the words ,"changes updated ."
