Trusted with Facebook?

I've always wanted to get Facebook, but my mum wont let me.

All of my friends have FB, and I'm the only one without it, and they are constantly asking me to get an account.

I've asked Mum before, but she's always said no. She says that too much sh*t goes on, kids get hurt and too many arguments happen over Facebook.

She also works in social work, and they've showed her the things what people have done to kids that they've met on FB.

I understand her reasons for not letting me have a Facebook account, but sometimes I feel left out.

I've been told to make an account behind her back, but I would feel really guilty, as my sister did it and got into loads of trouble.

Anyone have any advice??

I am a 13 year old and i think you are around my age . i have a fb account . There isnt anything Nice in it . miliions of people around the world are addicted to facebook and suffer from many mental disorders. narcissism , bipolar disorder etc ..there are many kinds of disorders . You dont really want to be creating a facebook account ? really. many kids are commiting suicides because of the arguments that happen on facebook . I am just telling u , because u got to know this ..before you create this . I know that the temptation will be great so that i am just telling u the risks . not that u will end up in the above lists ..though . But facebook is a great tool in keeping up with friends just dont get addicted to it . Its upto it But if you create an fb account do tell ur mom ... hope my answer helped you .

If you are over 13 years of age, you are allowed to.

As you are not in violation of the site's policy, and your parent(s) cannot force you to close your account. But instead like parents they can ban you from the computer or Internet access (if they are know what they are doing).

My view is when your about 15 year old or older, you have to start learning about how harsh and bad the really world is.

If you do make a FaceBook account NEVER put personal information on there, if possible limit information which could be used to harm you such as phone numbers, address, Emails.
