how to tell if someone on facebook blocked you?

How do you know if someone on your friends list on facebook deleted you or just blocked you or both? because one of my friends on there aren't on there anymore but when i go to the old messages it says their name but i can't click on it or see their profile, so did they block me and delete me or just block me? and they aren't on my friends list anymore. also, if i want to block someone and still have them added will they be able to see my profile and will they still be on my friendslist or will they be off since i blocked them?

They either blocked you or deleted you. I have two Facebook accounts so I search for the person on my other account and if I find them then they blocked me but if I can't find them then they deleted it.

That person probably blocked you if it says Facebook user under the messages if they deleted their account it will just be a black name. If you block someone they will not be able to see your profile at all no matter what way unless they manually search your account on google and aren't logged in or on a fake account or a friends account. I am not sure however of they will show as a friend on your friends list.

On messages it will say You can no longer message this user. And if they comented on your posts it will have a black name with the facebook default picture and it will say how many mutual friends.

When you block someone on Facebook, or they block you, they cannot find you, they cannot see your wall posts, comments you reply to your friends-in-common walls; you are pretty much disappeared. You and that person however can still see the message history between you two. All you have to do is delete that message history. (if that bothers you).

If they block your name on Facebook, it will also block other parts of your profile, such as emails attached to that account. That is why if you set up a fictitious account to double check if someone has left Facebook or has just blocked you, make sure you don't use any information that is in your current Facebook account; because if the person blocked you, so is your email attached to your account.

If someone blocked you but you want to make sure that you block them as well, (in case one day they unblock you, but you don't want anything to do with them anymore), you of course can't block their name because you can't see it or find it, but you can add to the block list any emails you know that person uses on his/her Facebook. They may change email in time, but most people don't, if anything they add one.
