Flash won't work on Firefox?
Hey all. Need an assist if anyone can help. For some reason, when my wife tries to load certain FaceBook games, all she gets is a blank white screen where the game should be. The FB banner and buttons across the top work fine, as well as the ad bar at the right, but the part of the screen where the game should be is just blank. It was all working perfectly up until 2 days ago, and she made no changes to her system (at least none she is aware of).

We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Java, Flash, and DirectX, all to no avail. It seems to work OK on Internet Explorer, so I assume it's something to do with Firefox, but I certainly don't want to revert back to having to use IE all the time.

Also: Please don't bother recommending other browsers, because A) We both are quite happy with Firefox (up until now), and B) she's not very techno-savvy, and has ZERO interest in having to learn the ins and outs of yet another browser. I want to SOLVE this problem, not just ignore it in favour of new problems with another browser.
Just to be clear, once again, please DO NOT WASTE MY TIME AND YOURS recommending that she switch browsers. I want a solution to THIS problem.
@DBZ: Youtube works fine. Runescape won't load via browser though. And no, no blockers that I am aware of.
@DBZ: Yes, that is installed and enabled.

@RJ: Will try that, but everything was working fine 2 days ago, so it seems unlikely that her video drivers spontaneously stopped being up to date.

Unfortunately you do need to change browser every few years. Along with that is bad programmers habit of testing things only in IE and not bothering to check they work in other browsers.

If all the software is up to date, including firefox itself which you don't mention having updated, it may be time for a browser change.

Here's your problem... you're using firefox. There's not anything wrong with it, but get Google Chrome instead of wasting your time on firefox

Lol...gotta love the illiterates (both tech and reading) answering questions on here. Flash works in Firefox, ignore the above answers.

Is the problem unique to Facebook or does it also happen at youtube? (Or at another site's java applet if you think it might be a java game?)

Do you have any blocking extensions installed like NoScript or RequestPolicy?

Edit -- ok so it sounds like a Java problem. You have the firefox plug-in "Java™ Platform SE7 U9 10.9.2.5"? And it's enabled?

(When installing java, it's possible someone might not choose the option to also install to the browser, that's why I ask even though you said you just reinstalled java.)

Your problem may not be anything to do with the things you mentioned. Try getting the latest display drivers for your motherboard or video card.
