What should I do with this situation?
On twitter I would say dirty sexual things because me and all my friends thought it was funny. Well months passed and obviously it got repetitive and annoying. My best friend told me I should stop because people were getting annoyed and her parents check her twitter. Well, I tweeted a few more dirty things before stopping and I guess her parents saw them and checked my twitter account and saw all my shit. Now she is pissed at me for what I've done and her parents think I'm weird and are concerned that they let her go to my house now and they see why her boyfriend got jealous when we hung out. I just want to know what I should do because I don't want to lose her as a friend and I don't want her parents telling mine. PLEASE HELP ME THIS IS URGENT!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, anything you put out on social media has the risk of coming back to haunt you; therefore, it makes it extremely important to remain mindful of what you write. That being said; however, what's done is done and now it's important to do damage control.

Personally, I think you should go to your parents yourself and own up to your mistake, that will show maturity on your part. Once you have told your parents and received your punishment, if any, try contacting your friend. Better yet, since twitter seems to be the source, a SINCERE, public apology may be the right thing to do. Let your friend and her parents know that you have owned up to your mistakes to your parents and that you are truly sorry for saying such things.

If the friendship is real, she will come around. If you apologize and truly change your actions and she still doesn't come back to you as a friend, then it's her lose.

Most importantly, stay away from the "dirty talk" on twitter or anywhere really. It is a sign of immaturity and is rarely appropriate. You can tell your friend all day that you have changed but if you don't actually show her by your actions, then your word means nothing.

Best of luck!

If you're young enough to be concerned about your parents finding out, you're too young to post dirty things on the Internet
