what does standard text messaging rates apply mean?
i signed up for twitter and i want to add my mobile number. it says 'standard text messaging rates apply'. i have unlimited texting and i just want to know if that means i'll get charged extra.

It means whatever your phone company charges you for text messages will apply even when using twitter. So in your case it doesn't matter cause you have unlimited text messages.
That message is mainly for people who have limits, such as 500per month. Ads |

It's just letting you know that whatever you normally get charged for your text you will be cahrged for them as well. You've got nothing to worry about, but some people get chrged per text, or only have a certain amount
