cant see friends facebook message but can see everyone elses?

Hi, I am having trouble with my facebook messages.
My friend on facebook who is also in my FB friends list sends me facebook private messages but they don't get delivered to me.
Do you know when you send someone a private message, the sent message also shows up in your fb messages well everytime I send my friend a message, it just says sent & doesnt show up in my messages that iv sent them anything.
However my friend gets the private messages i have sent them withot any problems
Have you any idea how I can fix this or what I might have done to stop receiving their messages?
I have tried looking through privacy settings etc but cant see anything. I have also unfriended them then re-added them to see if it fixes it but it doesnt.
The other thing i notice that is different from the other messages i send is when ever i send this specific friend a private message, bellow the text box it says view message history with such & such
this doesnt show up with any my other friends i message

I think your friend's message is going to "Other folder" that is why you wont see it in main message list. If you see a message in Other that you’d like to move to your main messages view,
simply open the message (If you cant see your friend's message, enter the friend's name in the field on the top of message page and search it.)
click Action
select "Move to Messages" from the Actions drop-down menu.
