How to ask out a friend?

I have been debating wether or not to take this girl to a concert, I'm a senior in high school and we have been friends since middle school but not really close friends, anyways I decided to grow a set and ask her but the thing is I'm Used to asking girls in my league but she's out of my league how should I go about asking her without making it awkward

It's a yellow card concert and I think she likes them and I'm going to pay for her ticket I also don't see her in school to often maybe like once a week and I don't have her number anymore is Facebook an option

Personally, I would say work up to it like talk about regular things such as school events or friends then say you like her and you want her to go to a concert with you, although take into account dating might ruin your friendship depending how mature you guys are. I, personally, ask bluntly and usually get a yes even out of my league, just be confident because girls really like that. I asked out friends and get a good answer at least, but remember start with a date here and there so if being bf/gf isn't right you two part ways as friends.

ummmm yea like i would suggest that you message her on facebook and ask her for her number, cause you guys are friends so why wouldnt she give it to you, and once you get her number text her in like an hour or so saying hey its ______ and start off the convo there, then call her and ask her if she would like to go to the concert with you (: hope this helps (:
