It sounds dumb I know, but I'm afraid to post pictures of myself or statuses because I'm afraid nobody will 'like' them and I'll just look like a looser.... :/ my profile picture is of me & my friends, and I wanna post one I took of just me, but I'm afraid if I won't get a lot of likes..I see girls with like 50 likes and it makes me feel awkward. How do I get over this?

I know how you feel. I'm not exactly Brad Pitt. I got over that a long time ago. I have a FaceBook display picture of myself with flat-spiked dirty blond hair and piercing blue eyes. Nothing special. The picture you have on display right now isn't so bad. As normal people, we're not s'posed to look so "good". Those "enhanced" pictures of all the "A-list" celebrities are airbrushed. We wouldn't even recognized most of them if we saw them on the streets. Most of the girls' "enhanced" pictures are airbrushed model pictures. Noone really looks like that in real life. As for statuses, I couldn't care less who likes what I say and doesn't. I don't go for that "political correctness" bullshit. If you like, click on "like". If not, you can go fuck yourself! I'm gonna get more thumbs down than up but I don't give a fuck. Stay tough, be you, live by those rules, let noone and nothing change you, and you'll be ok.

trust me it's okay! lol. i don't wanna make it seem like i'm bragging but i get like over 300 likes most of the time on pictures & over 50 on statusis & it really isn't important. but try adding alot of people 1st, the amount of fb friends means alot. afterwards, upload the picture Smile. if you can, edit it or take one with good quality.

I used to be afraid of that all the time. I never had a lot of friends and it was embarrassing to see how others would get like hundreds of likes and comments on a picture and I couldn't just get one like or a comment. But when you see facebook as a whole, it's just a social network. It doesn't matter how many likes and comments you get on anything you post because the content on facebook doesn't define the person you are and it certainly doesn't showcase your true self.

I think you should post things for the sake of posting. It's your facebook, go crazy. Who cares if no one likes it or comments on it? At the end of the day, it's just a picture or post.

At the end, I deleted facebook. I don't have high confidence and honestly, having facebook and seeing others with great social life hurt me more. After I got off facebook, I felt better. I wasn't constantly comparing myself to others and I didn't feel the need to show off or anything. Facebook free life is awesome. Wanna keep in touch with your friends? Just meet up or text.

Lol that's like one of the most fear on facebook. I eventuallyj ust ended up adding strangers for and enabling subscribe to get more likes. Girls get more because they are girls lol. They get more attention.
