How to delete a picture on Facebook timeline?

I want to delete a picture I posted so it won't show up on my friends news feed but still keep it as my profile picture. I know how to hide it from my timeline but I want to know how to delete it so friends don't see it on the news feed

Once it is selected as your profile picture,
Deleting it from your timeline will not affect the pp. simply click on the picture, on the bottom will be a tab, with a button saying 'options' click on it then click 'delete picture'. That's how it's done
