Online advertising? Isn't it getting old?
I see all these companies generating billions in advertising revenue and wonder exactly why?

I go onto youtube for example.... I "skip ad" and couldn't care less about it.

I go onto facebook and never pay attention to the ads that take up the screen.

I go onto many different sites where ads are blinding me and have absolutely no interest in anything they have to offer.

I and most of the world, know what we want.... I will not buy a Chevy Malibu because Yahoo has a picture of it on the side while I am looking for information on a certain topic.

How long do you honestly think that people will waste money advertising on websites, even if the websites are amazing, are people not getting used to ignoring these ads?

When it was the new thing for everyone, I understand that the ads were needed, but now a days, a simple click on amazon or ebay and you found everything that you need.

You're still seeing ads? Seriously?

Use Firefox and install their AdBlock option. Problem solved.

If the advertisements didn't work those companies wouldn't waste their money on them. There would be plenty of people who click on those ads, just because you don't do it, doesn't mean no one else does. Like I said if it didn't attract customers those companies paying for the advertisements wouldn't bother wasting their money.

If anything there will be more and more advertising on the internet as time goes by. Unless websites start charging users to use their sites they will continue to sell advertisement space.

No, as long as there are people looking to buy something online there will be online advertising.

Were it not for advertising, how would you know anything existed for purchase other than MAYBE seeing someone else with one?

How would you know that Ford was making this cool little niche car that wasn't very popular yet, but that is really your style?

Most ads are visual, even just a glance at that GM product is enough for you to remember it the next time you think about what car to purchase.
