Can people see that you viewed their facebook profile?

One of my friends status updates yesterday said " I hate how facebook has this new viewer, im such a creeper i'll be number 1 on everyone's "

I laughed at that but then i thought that i look at my crushes profile a whole lot, and i don't want him to see that i do.
So is this "viewer" true?

No. It's something we would all like to know tho. Therefore app's are created just for that, yet they don't work. They randomly pick people off your friends list and say they view your profile. I was picked once as viewing someone's profile the most. And i never as much as clicked on it.
It's just something to keep people entertained.

Facebook doesn't allow people to track who views their profiles. Facebook applications, on the other hand, are unable to track anybody unless they have the consent of the viewer.
