Two questions regarding Facebook?

First off, I find that once a few friends seemed to be deleted off my Facebook and I figured that they personally deleted me. But a month later, they appeared back on my friends list and they never resent a request. Is it possible for people to be automatically deleted from your Facebook? Second question: is it possible for someone on facebook to not recieve a friend request/message from you?

Facebook is just glitchy. It does that to me all the time. No worries.

answer for 1st question, they may be deactivated their account in that time. And answer for 2nd question go to Account -> Privacy settings -> Contact information -> Who can send you friend requests? You can only choose between Everyone and Friends of friends.
