What's the best way to accumulate Facebook friends?

I want to get around 500 friends quick. I don't really care who they are, I just want to pad my friend count. Any suggestion on how to do this most efficiently?

Thanks for the info, but I already have lots of friends in real life. I want to pad my virtual friend total. I really don't care if I know these people or not, I just want to increase my score.

Join Facebook groups, be polite there, as well as interesting, and add later on, introduce yourself and add people.

But what's the benefit of having lots of people? Not everyone is beneficial to your life. Having 50 quality people who truly care about you and cherish you is much better than having 500 people who are of no use to you.

Find and add cartoon characters such as Homer Simpson, Slimer, Bart Simpson, Margie Simpson, Lisa Simpson, Jugghead Jones, Reggie Mantle, Archie Andrews, Naruto, Charlie Brown, and so on.

How about you add your real friends first. Then click 'friends' in the top left corner, and it'll come up with suggestions, just add all those people
