How to set up facebook profile for business?
Hello I work at a Real Estate company and I was wondering how to set up a facebook profile for it. I already have a personal account so I really know how to use facebook but it is not allowing me to put my businesses name as the fist, middle and last name. I know I'm not supposed to do this but there are a lot of businesses that have facebook profiles and get away with it. I don't just want to create a page, I want to create an entire profile. Thanks!!!

This is because some companies create business profiles to solicit. If you would like to gather all of the people within your company, you should make a group instead. You can call the name of the group your company's name, you can administer it from your own facebook profile, and if you wish, you can choose to only those who work at the company (anyone else would need your permission to join the group before they could view it).

Just like a profile, groups have a wall which members can write on, you can most videos, pictures, and have discussion boards about different topics.

Hope that helps Smile

I agree that Groups or Pages are the best profiles for a business. Everyone on Facebook can view a Group or Page, but the same can't be said for an actual profile. Profiles can only be viewed by friends or people within the same Network -- that cuts out a lot of people who may be interested in your business but can't see its profile.

If you really want a "real" profile for your business, you need to start all over again. Facebook can be really picky about changing names so you should start a brand new Facebook account with the business' name as the first, middle, or last (however way you want it to look like).

The other pluses to making a Group or Page for a business is that an icon of your business will be placed on someone's profile or in their News Feed. It can encourage their friends to also view that Group/Page so they may in turn, add it to their own profile. Having a "business" added as a new friend isn't quite the same.
