She's giving me mixed signals and I'm mad for her! Help please?!?
Ok, so I'm a Senior in High School, and 17 years of age. I'm 6'4" and 220 lbs. I'm an Ex-Varsity Football player, a wrestler, Varsity Track & Field (Throwing), and Volleyball. I'm in Student Government and Key Club in my school. <---Wanted to let ya'll in on myself.

So there's this girl I know, in fact, I've known since 10th grade, and have actually become somewhat close to on a friendly level. She's smart, beautiful, and all of those good things you see in someone when you're crushing. She's also a member in the same clubs I am, and in 3 of my classes this year (She's been in at least 2 of my classes every year since 10th grade). I've always thought she was cute, but since the beginning of this school year, I've become extremely infatuated with her. I occasionally flirt with her and I'm always looking after her best interests. Not a day goes by that she doesn't pass through my mind, and I just tell myself that whatever happens, happens. You see, I don't want to ask her out because I feel like if she declines, then it might really impact our friendship. It'd feel really weird (in a negative way) if I didn't get to talk to her at least once a day.

Lately, I've noticed her mentioning (only when I can hear her, or I'm the only person in the room who could fit the blank) that she hasn't been on a date in forever, or asks why guys never come up to her. About how guys hit her up in a disrespectful manner on Facebook talking about how they think she's 'sexy'. I really want to take her out, and i'm getting my check in the mail soon from my previous job, and I had considered taking her out somewhere I know she likes to eat, like the Chinese Buffet or something, but I feel like she looks at me as just a friend, but then she gives off signs like she knows I like her and wants to me to ask her out.

I'm no stranger to getting and losing crushes like nothing, and when I usually get a crush and wait it out until it passes, I see that it was a better option to just remain friends instead of making an attempt at a relationship. However, with this girl I don't see it passing. Even if she were to tell me that she doesn't want a relationship, I think I'd still have feelings for her (It's looking like a Jacob/Bella scene from Twilight, I know).

I guess I'm just trying to get some feedback on my situation. Should I go for it, or leave her as the one I never tried, but remained good friends with? Should I take her out? With friends? Alone?

I know I can be romantic with her, but I'd need a really romantic/serious setting. I'm a jokester most of the time, and I have a slight issue with romantic situations at first. The first hump is always the hardest, but I give 200% afterwards to make up for it.

Please help! Thank You!
-Yours Truly, Hopeless Romantic.

You should try hanging out with her outside of class casually to start off with. You may just be imagining her mentioning stuff only when you can hear. Maybe ask her to help you study for a test or ask her to go to lunch. Are you too young to ask her for coffee?
